Extracellular Electrophysiology Acquisition Course NeuroKit

This kit allows you to follow the NeuroKit Course on Extracellular Electrophysiology Acquisition on your own schedule.

This course is designed to teach the fundamental principles that underlie data acquisition, from how electrodes detect voltages to closed-loop system design.

Upon purchasing, you will:

  • Be shipped a kit with the hardware you need to follow the course

  • Receive a welcome email with information on how to follow the course asynchronously

  • Be enrolled as an async student

  • Be added to our Discord server, where you can ask for help or more explanation

Once you have completed the exercises, you can choose to submit your answers and a final project for revision to be awarded a certificate of completion (if you complete the course materials within 3 weeks of your declared date). We can provide up to 2 certificates per NeuroKit purchased.

The EEA Course is fully online and relies on you to go through the materials yourself. You can follow this self-paced version or register your interest and apply for the synchronous course if you’d like to participate in the 5-day course taught by our team as part of the No Black Boxes NeuroKit programme.

The kit contains:

  • A Teensy LC Microcontroller

  • USB cable

  • 2 x AA Battery holder

  • Full-size breadboard

  • Jumper wires

  • Operational Amplifiers

  • Instrumentation Amplifiers

  • Resistor Assortment

  • Capacitor Assortment

  • Electrodes

  • Electrode Cabling

  • Electrode to Breadboard Adaptor

  • LEDs

You will need to provide:

  • Batteries (4xAA)

  • Oscilloscope

  • Multimeter
